Background: PHLDA1 is involved in regulation of apoptosis induced by signaling of T cell receptor in murine lympocytes. As any potent regulator with pleiotropic effects related to its overexpression, PHLDA attracts attention in both cell biology research and human tissue pathology. Seems to be involved in regulation of apoptosis. May be involved in detachment-mediated programmed cell death. May mediate apoptosis during neuronal development. May be involved in regulation of anti-apoptotic effects of IGF1. May be involved in translational regulation.
